Chapter 27-- WHAT THERAPIES CAN BE BASED ON HOCL? -- Pioneer of HOCL Science with Jeffrey F. Williams

We can make a good case right now just based on the fact that there are so many reports in the scientific and medical literature. One of the criteria for medical applications, particularly those that are therapeutic that WHO relies on is the standard randomized clinical trial. 

 

And typically a therapeutic, an antibiotic or another pharma company will go through trials that demonstrate using randomized clinical protocols the benefits of that drug. Well, HOCl has never been put into large-scale randomized controlled clinical trials. After all, it's a natural product. It's not patentable. 

 

It's not something that a drug company can bottle up and recover all its clinical trial expenses from. So it's not surprising that most of the experiences that clinicians have seen with HOCl are case reports, they're clinical series, but they're not structured in such a way that WHO can look at it and say “Yes, that’s a randomized clinical trial. It delivers data that support therapy.”

 

We feel that the case is strong enough. There are some reports, appreciable numbers in the last few years, of randomized trials, on a relatively small scale. I know of one that is being undertaken now that I think will qualify that's going to involve hundreds of patients in a randomized protocol. 

 

And I like to think that that may be the turning point that enables WHO next time around to add HOCl to the therapeutic pharmacopeia as well as the WHO disinfecting and sanitizing toolkit.
