It promotes healing. It promotes all the kinds of things that must happen in a wound or in your damaged gum that make wounds heal. And a great deal of that, by the way, depends on blood supply. Nothing will heal without what's called microcirculation. And NCT is a great stimulator of microcirculation.
Tissues get a nice supply of capillary blood supply and it also shuts down the most harmful pieces of inflammation. It sort of puts oil on the water of inflammation and promotes the changes in your tissues that make you heal.
And we think that that's really one of the great benefits of HOCl is its capacity to leave a big footprint. It leaves behind a modification of taurine, converts it to NCT, and that NCT is not lightning fast. It's slow and it's steady.
It's anti-inflammatory. It stimulates new blood vessel formation. If it's in a wound on your skin, it stimulates the closure of the skin, the movement of your skin cells to close over the site. It does all those good things and those are all measurable.
They're all published so scientific literature supports that all those are measurable changes come about from HOCl and when we apply external supplies of HOCl when we use it as a wound irrigant or as a mouth rinse, we get all those benefits stimulated by the reaction of HOCl with the amino acid taurine.
