Chapter 21-- DO YOU RECOMMEND TAURINE SUPPLEMENTS? -- Pioneer of HOCL Science with Jeffrey F. Williams
There's enough in most people. You make it, by the way. You can take it orally, and It comes in your diet because there's taurine in food and it’s in a lot of dietary components. But you can manufacture, human beings manufacture taurine.
Most animals do. Quite oddly, cats don't. That's just an oddity of mammalian physiology. If you look at cat food and you read the label, you'll find it's got taurine in it, added taurine, because cats can't make enough, whereas dogs do and people do.
So there are arguments for benefits from taurine supplementation, and you'll find a wealth of literature on how it participates and a lot of good things that go on in the body.
But I think one of its really important functions is to provide the knock-on beneficial healing effects at all the sites of injuries that go on in our bodies every day.
