Ep8 (full episode) -- Canker Sores, HOCL -- Dental Revolution: Biohacking the Mouth/Body Connection SEASON1

In Episode 8, we sit down with Hiromi, an international flight attendant with nearly three decades of experience, to discuss a painful and relatable struggle: severe, chronic canker sores. Since her early days living in Japan, Hiromi has battled multiple painful mouth ulcers brought on by the intense demands of her career.

From the extreme dryness of airplane cabins to the physical toll of fatigue and lack of sleep, Hiromi shares how these environmental and stressful triggers left her in so much pain that she was often unable to eat.

After years of trying ineffective ointments and requiring prescription medication from her dentist, she finally discovered a game-changing oral care solution. Listen in to hear how a simple change in her daily routine—and a specific mouthwash technique—completely transformed her oral health and eliminated her canker sores for good!

THE TRIGGERS OF CANKER SORES

Hiromi identifies severe stress, lack of sleep, physical fatigue, and extreme dehydration (exacerbated by dry airplane cabins) as the primary triggers for her severe breakouts.

THE BREAKING POINT

At her worst, Hiromi would suffer from two to three canker sores simultaneously, causing debilitating pain affecting her lips and gums, requiring professional dental intervention.

THE "Q-TIP" BREAKTHROUGH

When she first discovered her new oral swish, she applied it directly to a painful sore using a Q-tip. To her amazement, the sore disappeared within a single day.

CONSISTENCY IS KEY

Hiromi proves that a diligent, multi-step morning and evening oral care routine is the ultimate preventative measure against recurrent mouth issues.

Transcript

I had a canker sore often then took me over a week. It was so much pain. Sometimes you can't eat much because there is so much pain in the mouth. I remember my mom was a nurse. As she used to buy me the ointment to put it on but it didn't work at all. So then sometimes I get like two or three of them in my mouth. I was in so much pain. Sometimes I had to go see a dentist to give me medication.

I'm a flight attendant. I fly internationally at 29 years old. I've had a canker sore issue since I was living in Japan. Every time I have stressful work back then, lack of sleep or fatigue, I always get the canker sore. The airplane is get so dry. We have to keep hydrated by drinking water but sometimes get busy and we can't always drink water. So then the mouth get too dry or too gooey and uncomfortable.

Then you feel like maybe I smell my mouth. I've used this oral swish for three to four months now. I am gargling now with this. I was told to try a Q-tip to dab it and then it's gone like a day. And then I was so surprised.  What stage was it at when when you first um

Just started a few days ago and I was in so much pain about my lips and over the gum. Then I dipped the solution. It worked very well. Usually I suffer well over one week, but this one was one day gone. I was so surprised. That's amazing. But now this mouthwash is amazing. So then only a few times mouthwash the pain's gone. Then if you are bothered by the pain, then you can even use a Q-tip to apply as much as you can when you are feeling uncomfortable, then only I think within a one or two days and then no more pain. Amazing.

I was so happy. Starting the night after dinner, then I'll do a floss fast and then a gum massage with a toothbrush and then an electric brush without toothpaste. Then I do a swish. Then I do it 15 times a go. This side and then 15 times. Then 15 times this underneath and then I gargle 15 seconds. Then spit and then I put on the night guard and I go to sleep.

And in the morning I take off the night guard, rinse it, then rinse my mouth, then I eat breakfast, then after that I brush my teeth with a little bit of toothpaste and then swish. That's my routine. Then sometimes after lunch my mouth is not feeling good, then I do a swish.
