NCT that is generated goes into the circulating plasma. I actually think there's probably a place for NCT for treating systemic disease inflammation. I think that's highly likely. 

 

We're not there and part of the reason for that is that it's a relatively new piece of science, it's not made its way into any kind of therapeutic FDA approved drug formulation. But I think it's highly likely that this compound, this natural compound, can be a part of relief of systemic inflammation.

 

My guess is that oral swishing is generating in the mouth tissues NCT in enough quantities that it circulates and goes all the way to an arthritic lesion that might be in a lower limb.

 

Now the NCT is largely in what we call the extracellular sector, the fluid, the extracellular fluid around all the cells in your gums. It's a big part of your body --- the extracellular fluid. That is part of your circulatory system. And NCT that's generated as a result of HOCl in your gums will likely end up going into the systemic circulation.

 

And there are experimental systems where people inoculate NCT into the plasma, into the systemic circulation, and can show benefits of its circulation. So it doesn't surprise me at all because it's a very powerful substance. So there can be benefits that come about from HOCl at a mucosal site leading to a benefit at a systemic site.
