Ep2 (full episode) -- Autoimmune Disease, Bleeding Gums, HOCL -- Dental Revolution: Biohacking the Mouth/Body Connection SEASON1

In this patient testimonial, Tash, a 33-year-old mature student who returned to school three years ago, shares her unexpected battle with sudden and severe gum inflammation. Despite maintaining an excellent dental track record throughout her life with virtually no cavities, Tash experienced a sudden and alarming oral health decline.

During a routine visit to Dr. Goodman—her trusted family dentist since childhood—Tash presented with gums that were highly inflamed, remarkably sensitive, and bleeding significantly more than usual. Both Tash and her dentist suspected this rapid deterioration was heavily linked to a recently developed, ongoing autoimmune condition that was contributing to systemic inflammation.

To address this crisis, Dr. Goodman prescribed a specific oral hygiene protocol utilizing a Hypochlorous Acid (HOCl) oral swish. This specialized wash was chosen because it effectively kills harmful oral pathogens while safely leaving the beneficial bacteria intact.

Tash diligently incorporated this HOCl solution into her daily routine, utilizing it to swish, dip her toothbrush, and coat her interdental flossers.

The results were closely monitored over a series of brief follow-up appointments. Within just two weeks of utilizing the HOCl solution approximately four times a day, Tash experienced a massive turnaround in her oral health.

This video explores her exact application methods, the timeline of her healing, and why she views HOCl as an indispensable, lifelong tool for managing her oral microbiome alongside her autoimmune challenges.

A PRISTINE DENTAL HISTORY INTERRUPTED

Tash is a 33-year-old student who has consistently maintained excellent oral hygiene her entire life. Historically, she has had almost zero cavities and has always received positive reviews during her regular cleanings.

THE AUTOIMMUNE CONNECTION

Tash recently experienced a sudden alarm at the dentist when her gums presented as extremely red, inflamed, and sensitive. Her gums were bleeding heavily, which she and Dr. Goodman discussed as being likely related to an ongoing autoimmune condition she had recently been struggling with.

TARGETED HOCL THERAPY

To treat the severe inflammation, Dr. Goodman recommended an HOCl mouthwash protocol. The dentist explicitly explained that this specialized solution is formulated to kill bad bacteria in the mouth while preserving the beneficial, good bacteria.

A MULTI-STEP DAILY ROUTINE

Tash committed to using the HOCl solution roughly four times a day to maximize its effectiveness. Her comprehensive routine involved dipping her toothbrush directly into the HOCl. She also dipped specialized gum flossers with small teeth into the solution before pulling them through her teeth. Furthermore, she used the solution to actively swish around her mouth.

RAPID HEALING AND MONITORING

Tash returned to the dental office for checkups over the following weeks to monitor the HOCl's impact on her gums. The dental team noted visible improvements after just one week, followed by even more significant improvements by the second week.

DRAMATIC SYMPTOM RELIEF

After two weeks on the HOCl protocol, Tash reported that her gums were no longer bleeding. She noted that her gums felt tangibly stronger and considerably healthier than before. Her gum sensitivity was also dramatically reduced.

A PERMANENT LIFESTYLE CHANGE

Given the profound success of this treatment in mitigating her symptoms, Tash intends to continue utilizing the HOCl solution for the foreseeable future. She believes it acts as a crucial defense mechanism for maintaining her gum health amidst her other health issues. Tash stated firmly that she does not see herself ever going back to using regular mouthwash.

I have an ongoing autoimmune issue that might be related to something because I suddenly went for a clean bleeding and all of a sudden my gums were really inflamed and they were bleeding more often and they were red and sensitive. Finally, THE MOUTH IS ON A key to health in all we do. When we find it, I'm Tash. I'm 33 years old. I'm a mature student. I went back to school 3 years ago.

I've always seen Dr. Goodman. She's been my dentist since I was a child. My mom and my entire family and my friends all go see her. So, I've always gone for regular cleanings. And I've always gone to the dentist several times a year. I've had really good teeth my entire life, almost no cavities ever, and I've always had good cleaning reviews.

I went to the dentist for a cleaning as usual. And there was quite an alarm when suddenly my gums were really inflamed and red and they were bleeding more than usual. I discussed this with Dr. Goodman as it might be related to a recent autoimmune condition that I've recently been struggling with and that may have contributed to the inflammation in my gums.

So, she recommended I start using this HOCL mouthwash that she gave me. She explained how it kills the bad bacteria in your mouth but leaves the good bacteria. She wanted me to use it several times a day and also use it to help me floss and to swish around in my mouth. and she explained a little bit more about it and then had me start using it from that point on.

And for a few weeks afterwards, I went in for checkups just to monitor my gums and how the HOCL was working on them. How are your gums today? You've been using the HOCL now for about 2 weeks. What are you finding? Really big improvement.

My gums aren't bleeding anymore. They feel healthier. They feel stronger. They feel less sensitive. It's made a big difference. I use it about four times a day. And I floss with it as you're dipping it on the brush and brushing your teeth. Right. Yes. And then also dipping like um like one of those gum like flossers with little teeth and putting it through and yeah, I've noticed a big difference and I'm happy. Yeah.

When I came in a few weeks ago, my teeth and my gums were really inflamed. So I think we saw an improvement when I came in last week and then even bigger improvement this week.  It just took days, but now we're we're really we're not quite there yet. We still have a little more to go. Yeah. But I just continue using the HOCL and I continue my hygiene routine as Dr. Goodman recommended.

I basically maintain healthy gums now and I see myself using this hopefully foreseeable future for the rest of my life because I really do feel like it's at least helped me maintain my gum health even if some of my other health issues I'm still working on them. I don't see myself going back to regular mouthwash. I'd like to keep using the HOCL.
